The command of the Ebonyi State Police has verified the arrest of numerous prominent individuals and young people for their suspected involvement in cult conflicts within the State.

There have reportedly been some youth deaths in the state’s Nkwuagu area as a result of a recent conflict between two opposing cult organisations.

It was learned that the altercation terrified vendors and stopped operations at the Nkwuagu Market, which is situated beside the Abakaliki/Afikpo Motorway.

According to Daily Post , “Abakiliki and its environs are experiencing a silent cult war, and about four people—including a graduate—have been killed.”

It was equally learnt that many stakeholders, including a traditional ruler, whose name is yet to be identified, were arrested at Nkwuagu area.

Speaking to newsmen in Abakaliki, the spokesperson of the Ebonyi State Police command, SP, Onome Onovwakpoyeya confirmed the cult clashes.
