Information surfaced that the explosion happened when the tanker was emptying Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) at one of the filling stations in Rigasa, which is in the Igabi Local Government Area of the city of Kaduna.
Paul Aboi, the Director of the Kaduna State Fire Service, confirmed the event on Friday and stated that passersby, some Kaduna Vigilance Service employees, and five Federal firefighters had incurred injuries varying in severity.
The Director said some injured people are receiving treatment at the Barau Dikko Teaching Hospital in Kaduna.
