  • NNPP emphasizes preparations for governorship elections in key states

The National Secretary of the New Nigeria People Party (NNPP), Mr. Dipo Alayoku, has emphasized that there is no faction within the party. The NNPP has been embroiled in a series of crises, with some groups claiming leadership of the party, led by Major Agbo.

Mr. Alayoku dismissed speculations about a memorandum of understanding (MoU)-inspired deadline issued to Sen. Kwankwaso. He argued that these rumors were orchestrated by certain politicians and other political parties to disrupt NNPP’s political journey.

Alayoku stated that Senator Kwankwaso had undertaken an extensive campaign across Nigeria, visiting over 600 local governments during the previous election. He praised Kwankwaso’s commitment to reaching out to the electorate and his unwavering determination to lead the nation.

Regarding the expulsion of some state NNPP Chairmen involved in anti-party activities, Alayoku maintained that NNPP remains a national political party without any factions, contrary to media reports. He called on NNPP supporters to stay calm and united to advance the party’s progress and stability.

Alayoku also clarified that Sen. Kwankwaso is an authentic registered member of the NNPP, despite controversies surrounding his role within the party. He affirmed that Major Agbo is not the national chairman of NNPP and has been suspended by the party’s National Working Committee for disruptive activities.

He emphasized that the NNPP has transparently informed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of leadership changes within the party, ensuring compliance with electoral regulations.

The NNPP secretary urged all party supporters to remain steadfast and enthusiastic as the party prepares to participate in upcoming governorship elections in Kogi, Imo, and other crucial states.
