  • SP Sulaiman Nguroje, the spokesperson for the command, said it had deployed all operational assets to rescue the victim.
  • The abductors have contacted the family and demanded a ransom of N20 million to release Sahabi.

Gunmen abducted Usman Sahabi, the chief of staff of Adamawa House of Assembly Speaker Bathiya Wesley, early on Thursday morning.

At roughly one in the morning, Sahabi was kidnapped from his home in Wurro-Chekke, a neighbourhood in the state’s Yola South local government district.

“Five gunmen stormed his house at 1:00 am this morning and forcefully had their way into his room where they whisked him away at gunpoint,” a source said.

Sahabi, a staff member of the Adamawa Broadcasting Corporation (ABC), worked for the radio house from the Assembly before he was appointed as the Chief of Staff by the Speaker.
