The Kogi State Government has called on eligible voters to turn out in large numbers and participate in the upcoming gubernatorial election on Saturday. In a statement, Kingsley Femi Fanwo, the Commissioner for Information and Communications, assured citizens that security operatives had been deployed to safeguard them during the electoral process.

The statement emphasized that every polling unit would be under protection, creating an environment where eligible voters could confidently cast their votes. Fanwo commended the Federal Government and security agencies for their commitment to ensuring a peaceful poll.

He urged the people of Kogi State to exercise their civic right to elect their leaders, emphasizing that the security operatives were present not to intimidate or harass but to maintain professionalism and provide security for the citizens.

The statement concluded by calling for a rejection of violence, emphasizing the importance of preserving the peace enjoyed in the state and ensuring that the electoral process becomes a celebration of democratic rights rather than a source of unrest.
