  • The apex court dismissed an appeal on Friday due to lack of merit, finding no reason to dislodge lower court judgments in a unanimous decision.
  • It resolved all the issues that were formulated by the appellants against them.

Bala Mohammed’s election as governor of Bauchi State has been upheld by the Supreme Court.

Sadique Abubakar, the All Progressives Congress candidate for governor of the state, attempted to remove Mohammed from office in two lower courts, but his attempts were unsuccessful.

Abubakar had claimed in both courts that there had been widespread violations of the Electoral Act during the voting.

His appeal at the appellate court and petition at the tribunal were both denied due to lack of merit.
