  • Miyetti Allah in Kaduna condemns alleged extrajudicial killings and military incursions, calling for President Tinubu and Governor Sani’s intervention
  • MACBAN demands accountability, compensation for victims’ families, and urges urgent investigation into reported misconduct by the military in affected regions

The Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) in Kaduna State has strongly condemned what it describes as “extra-judicial killings, maiming, outright stealing, looting, extortion, unlawful intrusion, and harassment” of law-abiding Fulbe youths in Tilde Fulbe community and other areas of the Ladduga Grazing Reserve in Kachia Local Government areas of Kaduna.

In a press statement signed and issued by the Chairman of the association in the state, Haruna Usman Tugga, MACBAN alleged that it received alarming information about extra-judicial killings and incursions by Nigerian Military personnel into Tilde-Fulbe community and other communities within the Ladduga District, Kachia LGA of Kaduna, over the past three to four weeks, particularly on Saturday, 30th December 2023.

The statement further revealed that an emergency executive meeting was promptly convened to investigate the matter, aiming to uncover the victims’ root causes, triggers, perpetrators, and names.

Haruna Usman Tugga stated, “Arising from the emergency Executive Council meeting of MACBAN Kaduna State Chapter held on Wednesday, 9th January 2024, over the premeditated and systematic extrajudicial killings of Fulbe youth currently being undertaken by some badly trained elements in the Nigerian Army with bad motives, not only for the Ladduga Grazing Reserve but the entire peace in many other parts of the State.”

MACBAN dispatched members for a fact-finding mission to the affected areas, resulting in several findings. The association has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Uba Sani to intervene, hold the erring military personnel accountable, and compensate the victims’ families. The situation highlights the need for urgent attention and investigation into the alleged misconduct by the military in the affected regions.
