  • The explosion caused chaos and launching a sharp object that inflicted a deep cut in his brother’s stomach

Adeleke, a survivor of the explosion that rocked Ibadan on Tuesday night, has revealed how he lost his brother, whom he identified as Oladipupo, to the incident.

The survivor narrated to Lagelu FM, a local broadcasting station, that while they were playing tennis at a nearby hotel, his brother decided to go outside to attend to something.

The explosion then occurred causing chaos and launching a sharp object that inflicted a deep cut in his brother’s stomach.

Adeleke explained, “He came out to the front of the transformer where the incident happened. His intestines were out after the cut.”

He stated that immediate efforts were made to rush him to a hospital following the incident, but unfortunately, he didn’t make it.

Meanwhile, security agencies and other teams deployed to the scene of the Tuesday night explosion in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, have begun rescue operations.

The teams at the scene of the explosion comprise the Red Cross, the Federal Road Safety Corps, Nigeria Police Force, Nigerian Army, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Amotekun operatives, the Department of State Services, and the Oyo State Emergency Management Agency.
