  • Governor Siminalayi Fubara warns re-appointed commissioners in Rivers State against using their positions to sabotage his government, emphasizing consequences
  • Fubara directs the commissioners to contribute positively to governance, urging them to see their appointments as a call to duty

Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, has issued a stern warning to the recently re-appointed commissioners in the state, cautioning them against using their positions to sabotage his government. Fubara emphasized that such actions would have consequences.

The governor recently swore in nine commissioners who resigned earlier during the faceoff between Fubara and his predecessor, Nyesom Wike. The re-appointed commissioners include Zacchaeus Adangor, Jacobson Nbina, Gift Worlu, Inimefien Aguma, Chukwuemeka Woke, Chinedu Mmom, Dakorinama Kelly-George, Isaac Kamalu, and Ben Chioma.

Speaking during Edison Ehie’s swearing-in ceremony as his new Chief of Staff, Fubara warned the re-appointed commissioners not to use their positions to undermine his administration. He directed the Secretary to the State Government (SSG) to assign the commissioners to their former offices and emphasized that their roles should contribute positively to governance.

Fubara stated, “Let me also say this, coming and taking back your position is not for you to use it to destroy my government. Whatever you’re doing, it is not about me; it is about the things that you can stand to defend and be proud of many years later.”

In addition to Ehie, other individuals sworn in during the ceremony as special advisers were Darlington Orji, Prince Solomon Abel Eke, Barr Aminayanasam Fiberesima, Engr. Deeyah Bariene, and Ohia Prince. The governor urged them to see their appointments as a call to duty, adding value to governance and demonstrating credibility without using their positions to invite trouble for the government.
