Oborevwori, who acknowledged the contributions of his legal team and other stakeholders during the challenge to his victory in the governorship polls, said that the state was now set for greater development now that all distractions from court cases were over.

He challenged the new Attorney-General to sustain the state’s pace setting role in Criminal Justice Reforms, adding that the state’s criminal justice laws are adjudged widely to be 21st century-compliant, especially with recourse to technology.

“The transition period of both laws ended on December, 22, 2023. So, both laws are now operational in all courts in Delta state

“The rigorous and successful implementation of these laws is, therefore, imperative for Delta State to maintain its leadership position.”

Oborevwori said that as commissioners and heads of the ministries, the new appointees should lead by example by being disciplined and transparent.

“I charge you to match your words with actions, shun ethnic politics and operate open-door policies.

“Now that the distraction of the 38 court cases are behind us, this administration is fully committed to take the state to a higher realm to make life better for all in line with my M.O.R.E. Agenda mantra”.

Responding on behalf of the commissioners, the Commissioner for Information, Osuoza, thanked God and appreciated Gov. Oborevwori for finding them worthy to serve in his cabinet.

“This appointment is huge, we appreciate it and we are taking the M.O.R.E. Agenda to heart and are committed to deliver on our duties,” Osuoza said.

He said that going forward, he would engage information officers to drive government policies and programmes at the grassroots.

He also pledged to reposition the state media outfits to meet the modern trend in information world.

The event was graced by politicians, traditional leaders and people from all walks of life, including former deputy governor, Chief Benjamin Elue, and Deacon Kingsley Otuaro.
