Abducted passengers of GIG, ABC transport company regain freedom

  • The passengers were kidnapped at Inele Eteke, in Olalamaboro Local Government Area of Kogi State last week.

The abducted fourteen passengers who were traveling in GIG and ABC transport company buses have been set free by their captors.

The passengers were kidnapped at Inele Eteke, in Olalamaboro Local Government Area of Kogi State last week.

The Kogi State Police Public Relations Officer, SP William Ovye, confirmed the development to newsmen on Thursday evening.

“Just been informed by the DPO that, all the kidnapped victims of God is Good Motors, GIG and ABC have regained their freedom”, he said.

Recall that the armed bandits had on Saturday, February 3, 2024, hijacked two buses belonging to GIG and ABC transport companies and whisked away about 14 passengers to an unknown destination.

According to reports, God is Good Motors was with 12 passengers while ABC was with two passengers.

Abductors of the 14 passengers of Abuja-bound buses had contacted families of the victims, demanding N15M as ransom.

It is not immediately clear if the ransom was paid prior to the release of the abductees.
