The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has strongly condemned the recent remarks made by the former Director General of the Voice of Nigeria (VON), Osita Okechukwu, advocating for the removal of Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma, from his position as chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF).

Okechukwu’s statement, urging APC governors to oust Uzodinma following the outcome of the February 17 governorship primary election in Edo State, where three candidates emerged under Uzodinma’s leadership as chairman of the party’s primary election committee, has been met with disapproval from the party.

In response, the APC national vice chairman (South-East), Ijeomah Arodiogbu, emphasized that Uzodinma bore no responsibility for the confusion surrounding the primary election process.

Arodiogbu cautioned party leaders against actions perceived as detrimental to the interests of the Southeast zone, warning that such individuals would be subject to sanctions from the party’s highest ranks at the zonal level as we advance.
