  • Mauricio Pochettino acknowledges uncertainty about his future at Chelsea despite discussions with co-owners following League Cup defeat
  • Former Manchester United defender Gary Neville criticizes Chelsea’s performance, labeling them a “blue billion-pound bottle-job” after the loss

Despite Mauricio Pochettino’s confidence in the continued support of Chelsea’s owners following their defeat to Liverpool in the League Cup final, he admits that his future at Stamford Bridge is beyond his control.

The Argentine manager, under considerable pressure, disclosed that he engaged in constructive discussions with Chelsea’s co-owners, Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali, in the aftermath of Sunday’s 1-0 extra-time loss at Wembley.

The defeat prompted renewed criticism directed at Pochettino and his high-profile squad, with former Manchester United defender Gary Neville, now a television pundit, branding Chelsea as nothing more than a “blue billion-pound bottle-job.”

Currently positioned in 11th place in the Premier League, Chelsea aims to rejuvenate their season as they face Leeds United at home in the fifth round of the FA Cup on Wednesday.
