  • The party urged the speaker to swear in 16 APC and Labour Party members who were declared winners by the Appeal Court

The All Progressives Congress, APC, in Plateau State has again admonished the speaker of the state assembly, Gabriel Dewan, to swear in its members who won their cases at the appeal court.

The party’s admonition was contained in a statement on Friday by the APC assistant state publicity secretary, Nimzing Pyennap.

The party urged the speaker to swear in  the 16 APC and Labour Party members who were declared winners by the Appeal Court

The party said it was imperative for the members to be sworn in without any delay since the appeal court has affirmed their victory at the polls.

The speaker had in January said he would not swear in the new members until the court’s verdict on the suit filed by the sacked 16 PDP lawmakers.

However, the Appeal Court on Tuesday dismissed the suit and fined the sacked lawmakers N128 million for seeking review of its judgment.

The 16 PDP lawmakers have been aggrieved ever since they were axed by the appellate court in what what many said was betrayal of public trust and flagrant miscarriage of justice as its scoffed and violated the precedent and decision of the supreme court on similar matters.

However, their latest efforts to have the judgement reviewed yielded no fruit
