Dr. Abdulazeez Olajide Adediran, widely known as Jandor, the Lagos State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in the 2023 election, has declared that party leaders who supported rival candidates during the last elections are no longer considered members of the party.

During a thank-you ceremony and a state of the nation address with his campaign team, Jandor asserted his leadership within the PDP in Lagos State, stating that those who openly endorsed other candidates have effectively severed their ties with the party.

Despite his unsuccessful legal challenges contesting the election results, where he alleged his opponent presented a forged secondary school result, Jandor maintained that betrayal from within the party is not a new occurrence. He recounted instances where party leaders had previously worked against PDP candidates in elections, including supporting candidates from other parties like the Labour Party.

Jandor emphasized that such actions have become a pattern among certain party leaders and urged them to leave the party if they no longer wish to be associated with it. He declared himself the party’s top leader, emphasizing his commitment to providing selfless leadership to all party members.

Regarding the recent Supreme Court judgment on the election, Jandor criticized the court’s ruling, suggesting that it lowered the standards for candidate eligibility by implying that presenting a NEPA Bill as a certificate is acceptable.

Turning his attention to national issues, Jandor criticized President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration for abruptly removing the fuel subsidy, stressing that the decision should have been communicated better to the public and implemented after the cabinet was formed.

Segun Adewale, the PDP senatorial candidate for Lagos West, echoed Jandor’s sentiments, blaming the party’s misfortunes on the actions of certain leaders. He called for these individuals to exit the party, allowing sincere and committed members to take charge.
