  • Justice Ubale said prosecution had proved “beyond reasonable doubt” that he lured the victim and engaged in anal sex with him

One Aminu Ali will spend the rest of his life in prison for raping and sodomising a 10-year-old boy (name withheld), a Jigawa state court has ruled.

Ali was convicted and sentenced by Justice Musa Ubale of the State High Court on Thursday.

Ali, who hails from Aukayawa Quarters in the Gwaram Local Government Area of the state, was sentenced after the judge found him guilty of the charges against him.

Justice Ubale said prosecution had proved “beyond reasonable doubt” that he lured the victim and engaged in anal sex with him.

To prove its case, the prosecution counsel called five witnesses and submitted four exhibits, including a medical report.

Consequently, the judge sentenced the convict to life imprisonment under Section 3 (2&4) of the Violence Against Person Prohibition Law of Jigawa State (VAPP LAW).

Justice Ubale, however, stated that the convict has the legal right to appeal the judgment within three months
