Imo State’s Operation Udoka, a collaborative military effort, conducted a raid on a notorious camp situated in Ezioha forest within the Mbaitoli Local Government Area.

The camp, allegedly operated by suspected members of the banned Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its associated militia, the Eastern Security Network (ESN), was targeted.

During the operation, which aimed to dismantle various criminal activities in the area, Brigadier General Usman Lawal, the Army Commander of 34 Artillery in Obinze, Imo State, highlighted the forest’s reputation for the torture of prominent kidnapping victims.

He added that the forest which bordered three local government areas of Oru East, Njaba and Mbaitoli was being controlled by one B44, a suspected notorious IPOB commander.
