  • Lolade Ipele urges the government to create frameworks supporting women’s progress in politics and other areas, enhancing democracy
  • She emphasizes the need for capacity-building initiatives and training programs to empower women for leadership roles and civic engagement

Ms. Lolade Ipele, the Project Lead of Breaking the Barriers, has called upon the federal government to establish supportive frameworks facilitating women’s advancement in politics and beyond, fostering deeper democracy in the nation.

Ipele made this appeal during a one-day capacity-building workshop for women and girls in Abuja over the weekend. The workshop, themed ‘Breaking the Barriers: Active Participation of Women in Leadership and Civic Engagement,’ served as a platform for addressing challenges hindering women’s involvement in leadership roles.

“We advocate for the government to establish supportive structures enabling women to excel and harness their potential. This includes implementing capacity-building initiatives and training programs aimed at sensitizing women to assuming leadership positions, benefiting both themselves and their communities,” remarked Ipele.
