Supreme Court played ignoble role in removal of Ihedioha as Imo governor – Ex Jigawa governor, Lamido

• He noted that the judiciary is at the root of the perennial crisis that the PDP is embroiled in.

Former Jigawa governor, Sule Lamido, says if the supreme court had not overturn the election of Hon. Emeka Ihedioha as Imo Governor, he would have remained a sitting governor of the state.

Lamido, a Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, chieftain, says the removal of Ihedioha from office was a miscarriage of justice and an ignoble thing to do by the apex court.

He noted that the judiciary is at the root of the perennial crisis that the PDP is embroiled in.

On the role of the judiciary in the plights of the PDP, he said the action and procedures of the court culminated in the eventual resignation and exit of Ihedioha from the party.

He said “Emeka Ihedioha and other chieftains of the PDP that resigned from the party were humiliated and frustrated out. They were humiliated by the leadership of the party, with the help of the judiciary.

“Ministers resigned to contest election. Other government officials and even party officials resigned to contest elective offices. Senator Anyanwu ought to have resigned to contest the governorship election in Imo state.

“if not the ignoble role of the Supreme Court, Ihedioha will still be governor and the same courts was used to support Anyanwu retaining the office of the National Secretary and the Governorship candidate.

“When the history of the PDP is to be told, the role of the courts must occupy a special place. This is especially with the southeast geopolitical zone.”
