  • Senator Rufai Sani Hanga clarifies his donation of clay pots and cloth to graveyards, stating it’s not an official project
  • The donation, driven by a desire to please God, aims to address shortages in local graveyards, upholding cultural practices

Senator Rufai Sani Hanga, representing Kano Central, has explained his recent donation of over 2000 clay pots and 10,500 yards of white cloth to Muslim graveyards in his constituency, emphasizing that the gesture was driven by a desire to please God and secure His eternal reward.

In response to criticism and misinformation surrounding the donation, Senator Hanga clarified that the act was not part of his official constituency project, contrary to rumours circulated by detractors and political opponents.

Addressing reporters in his first press conference since his election in 2023, Senator Hanga explained that the donation stemmed from a longstanding family tradition, predating his political career. He expressed his commitment to continuing this legacy throughout his lifetime.

The donation to the Kano state committee for graveyards was prompted by a recognized shortage of clay pots in local graveyards. Senator Hanga emphasized the importance of addressing this need to uphold cultural and religious practices.
