  • Speaker Abbas Tajudeen urged APC Chairman Ganduje to establish reconciliation committees to unite aggrieved party members nationwide for party unity
  • Abbas emphasized the need for forgiveness and collaboration post-elections, advocating reconciliation committees in each zone and state to foster peace

Speaker of the House of Representatives Abbas Tajudeen has called on the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, to establish reconciliation committees to unite aggrieved party members nationwide.

Abbas appealed this during an APC stakeholders’ meeting in Kaduna on Sunday. He noted that although previous national chairmen, including Ganduje, had set up reconciliation committees to address various party crises, some state chapters remain troubled.

Abbas emphasized the need to reconcile and make peace with disgruntled members to ensure the party functions as a united family. He stated, “I urge the national chairman and our party executives to promote peaceful coexistence among all party members. We face many issues in different states and local governments.”

He added, “It is time to draw a line. Elections are over; this is the time for governance. Let’s forgive and embrace one another. I suggest that the national chairman, and by extension the national vice chairman, urgently form reconciliation committees for each zone and state to foster peace and bring back those we may have offended.”

Additionally, Speaker Abbas asked Ganduje to address the high turnover rate of National Assembly members, advocating that well-performing APC members should have the opportunity to return in 2027.

In his remarks, Ganduje affirmed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s capability to deliver on his promises and urged APC governors to renovate party offices in their respective states.
