Ogun road accident kills minor, three others

At least four persons have lost their lives in a ghastly auto crash in Sagama area of Ogun State.

Two vehicles, a wine coloured Toyota Sienna with registration number LND945EL and a white Convoy bus with registration number AKD232XV, were involved in the crash.

Eight persons were involved in the accident that happened at 12:40 pm on Sunday.

Florence Okpe, spokesman of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC in Ogun State, confirmed the development in a statement on Sunday.

According to her, the mishap was caused by overspeeding and wrongful overtaking which led to rear collision of the two vehicles.

“The crash involved 2 (two) vehicles with the following details; Wine Toyota Sienna with registration number LND945EL and White Convoy Bus with registration number AKD232XV.

“Eight people were involved in the crash. 6 Male Adults, 1 Female Adult and 1 Female Child
A total of 4 people were killed , 2 Male Adults, 1 Female Adult and 1 Female Child while 04 Male Adults were injured,” the statement said.

Okpe added that a rescue operation was carried out by a team from FRSC Mosimi Unit Command and injured victims were taken to Dasochris Hospital, Gbaga, Ogijo, while the affected families took custody of the corpses.

The sector commander, Anthony Uga expressed condolences with the families of the crash victims and advised motorists to desist from overspeeding and pay total attention when driving.

He also urged motorists to ensure road markings on overtaking are obeyed
