Troops of Operation Hadin Kai in Maiduguri, along with the Civilian Joint Task Force in Borno State, have arrested Corporal Francis Bako for allegedly stealing ammunition.

According to Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency expert and security analyst in the Lake Chad region, military intelligence apprehended him at Kano Motor Park in Maiduguri following a tip-off. Corporal Bako, originally from Mallam Fatori, was en route to Kaduna and was found in possession of 602 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition.

He is currently in military custody for further action.

In another news, one members of the Civilian Joint Task Force have been by an improvised explosive device (IED) planted by Boko Haram terrorist in Damboa local government area of Borno state.

Four other civilian JTF members sustained injuries after stepping on the landmine while on a routine patrol along Maiduguri-Damboa Road.

Sources said that one of the CJTF members instantly died while the remaining four sustained various injuries and were rushed to the Hospital.
