  • The party cited the last general elections as a reminder of the challenges facing democracy in Nigeria, including monetization, lack of transparency, and voter disenfranchisement.
  • The PRP called on civil society organizations, professional associations, and community groups to mobilize and demand better from leaders and institutions.

The Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) has raised alarm over the deteriorating state of Nigeria’s democracy.

The party urged citizens and civil society organizations to take immediate action to address the challenges facing the country.

In a statement signed by Comrade Muhammed Ishaq, Acting National Publicity Secretary, the PRP lamented the erosion of civic rights, the lack of transparency and accountability, and the monetization of the electoral process, which it said had undermined the very foundation of democracy in Nigeria.

The party called on Nigerians to mobilize and demand better from their leaders, emphasizing the need for a participatory, inclusive, and accountable democracy that serves the interests of all citizens.
