A 23-year-old man identified as Abdulrazak Muftau has been arrested by men of the Ogun State Police Command for allegedly defiling a 16-year-old girl (name withheld) in the Igbesa area of Ado-Odo Ota Local Government Area.
It was gathered that the suspect committed the crime in June this year but was arrested later after a report was lodged at the Igbesa Police Division.
The suspect during interrogation reportedly told the police that he met the victim sometime ago on Facebook and they have been dating for a while.
He said he later invited her over and had carnal knowledge of her.
The state police public relations officer, Omolola Odutola while speaking on the development confirmed the incident.
She said the suspect has since been detained and will be charged to court as soon as the investigation is concluded.
