In a copy of the resignation letter dated July 18, the ex-chairman explained that he could not, in good conscience, continue with some leaders of the party whose aim is to make financial fortunes at every round of elections in the state.

Former state chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State, Ebenezer Alabi has resigned his membership of the party.

It was gathered that the decision of Alabi to resign was due to internal crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.

Alabi, who was the chairman of the party during the administration of the late Governor Olusegun Agagu, said he took the latest decision after wide consultation with his family members, political associates, and friends.

In a copy of the resignation letter dated July 18, the ex-chairman explained that he could not, in good conscience, continue with some leaders of the party whose aim is to make financial fortunes at every round of elections in the state.

“The large chunk of money sent for mobilisation during the past general elections ended up in the private pockets of these leaders at the detriment of the party’s victory,” he alleged.

Alabi’s resignation came barely 24 hours after some leaders and members of the PDP dumped the opposition party for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state and promised to work for the emergence of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa in the polls.
