  • President Tinubu directed security agencies to eliminate inter-agency rivalry and collaborate effectively against criminal elements and organized non-state actors
  • He emphasized the need for a coordinated approach to tackle security threats and committed to reforming the Nigerian Police Force

President Bola Tinubu has directed all security agencies to end inter-agency rivalry and unite in the country’s fight against criminal elements and criminalities. He emphasized that this collaborative approach is crucial to effectively tackling the menace of well-organised non-state actors.

The Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, Bosun Tijani, conveyed Tinubu’s directive during the commissioning of the Nigeria Police Force National Cyber Crime Centre in Abuja.

“The security situation in the country is a complex blend of threats posed by well-organized non-state actors. Addressing it requires a concerted approach by all stakeholders within the security architecture. Therefore, I call for eliminating inter-agency rivalries and urge law enforcement agencies to embrace a coordinated, collaborative approach,” Tinubu stated.

He further reiterated the government’s commitment to reforming the Nigerian Police Force through the procurement of arms, weapons, and other critical equipment, recruitment, and continuous training to improve the number, quality, and preparedness of police personnel.
