Nuhu Ribadu, National Security Adviser, presented a comprehensive security briefing to the Council.

He addressed the recent #EndBadGovernance protests and the events that unfolded.

The Council praised Nigerians for standing against unconstitutional attempts to overthrow the government during the protests.

They emphasized the importance of seeking change through democratic elections.

The National Security Adviser assured the Council that security agencies are fully prepared to safeguard Nigeria’s democracy.

He stressed that any government change must occur through peaceful elections, not violence or insurrection.

The Council received a detailed security briefing covering the period before, during, and after the protests.

They were reassured of the security agencies’ commitment to maintaining national stability.

The National Security Adviser’s briefing alleviated concerns and reinforced the importance of protecting Nigeria’s democratic institutions.

He reiterated the security agencies’ dedication to ensuring the country’s territorial integrity and democratic values.

Also speaking, AbdulRazaq AbdulRahman, governor of Kwara and chairman of the Nigerian Governors Forum (NGF), told State House correspondents that the council passed a vote of confidence in the president.

“The high note of the meeting was a unanimous passage of a vote of confidence on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, Commander in Chief of the Nigerian armed forces,” he said.
