  • Governor Yusuf made the revelation after visiting the vandalized court for an on-the-spot assessment

Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf has alleged that documents related to corruption charges against former governor Abdullahi Ganduje were stolen by miscreants during the recent vandalism of the state high court.

The court was targeted during nationwide anti-hunger protests.

Governor Yusuf made the revelation after visiting the vandalized court for an on-the-spot assessment.

In a statement issued by his spokesperson, Sanusi Dawakin Tofa, on Wednesday, the governor described the incident as a “sponsored mission.”

“The hired miscreants carted away corruption charges documents on former Kano State governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, who is facing multiple charges before the state High Court,” the statement said.

The statement further claimed that the miscreants were directed to destroy the court to disrupt the legal proceedings against Ganduje, who is currently serving as the Acting National Chairman of the APC.

The vandals reportedly damaged nearly all units of the court, including the office of the state Chief Judge.

Governor Yusuf urged Kano youths to avoid being manipulated into violence and instead focus on skills acquisition for a better future. He also ordered the immediate rehabilitation of the court building and the deployment of additional security to ensure effective justice delivery.
