  • The State government had imposed a 24-hour curfew on the metropolis, in the wake of the looting of public and private properties by some hoodlums in Jos North Local Government Area of the state

Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State on Thursday lifted the curfew imposed on the Jos-Bukuru metropolis.

WITHIN NIGERIA recalls that the State government had imposed a 24-hour curfew on the metropolis, in the wake of the looting of public and private properties by some hoodlums in Jos North Local Government Area of the state.

The curfew had been relaxed several times based on advice from the state security council.

The lifting of the curfew was announced by the Director of Press and Public Affairs to the governor, Gyang Bere in Jos the State Capital.

He said, “The Plateau State Government has fully lifted the curfew imposed on Jos-Bukuru Metropolis, following the peaceful conduct of residents and an improvement in the security situation.

“The decision to lift the curfew was made after a review with security agencies, which allows citizens to resume their economic and lawful activities while maintaining public order.

Governor Mutfwang expressed deep gratitude to the people of Plateau State for their steadfast patriotism and cooperation during this challenging period.

He assured residents of his unwavering commitment to their well-being.

The Governor also commended the security personnel for their dedication and effective enforcement of the curfew.

Mutfwang called for continued collaboration between residents and security agencies to ensure the safety of lives and property across the state.
