The Governors of Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, and Osun States have declared Tuesday, August 20, 2024, a public holiday to mark this year’s Isese Day celebration. Millions of traditional worshippers in Yorubaland observe this day.

In Lagos, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu approved the work-free day for public servants, as communicated by the State Head of Service, Bode Agoro. The circular issued by Agoro instructed public servants to resume work on Wednesday, August 21, 2024.

Similarly, in Ogun State, Governor Dapo Abiodun also declared the day a public holiday. According to a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Strategy, Kayode Akinmade, the work-free day will allow traditional worshippers across the state to celebrate their special day.
