One shot dead as gunmen abduct two in Nasarawa

An attack by gunmen on Gadabuke community in Toto Local Government Area of Nasarawa State has claimed one life.

The gunmen also abducted two persons during the attack which happened on Monday.

The gunmen were said to have invaded the home of one Agaba Yakubu during which the deceased, identified as Garba Yakubu, was shot dead.

The Police Public Relations Officer for Nasarawa State, Ramhan Nansel, confirmed the incident to newsmen in Lafia.

According to him, the attack occurred in the early hours of August 25, 2024, around 2:00 am.

He disclosed the unknown gunmen invaded Yakubu’s residence and kidnapped two others whose identities have not yet been disclosed.

“Upon receiving the distress call, the Divisional Police Officer of Toto Division immediately mobilized operatives to the scene.

“The corpse of the victim was recovered and later released to his family for burial in accordance with Islamic rites,” Nansel stated.

The police spokesman added that the Commissioner of Police has reinforced the Toto Police Division and initiated a search and rescue operation to locate the kidnapped individuals.
