  • Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki urges civil servants to support the PDP and warns of repercussions if the APC wins the upcoming election
  • Obaseki emphasizes the importance of maintaining progress and criticizes opponents for their lack of experience and competence in leadership

Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki has urged civil servants to support the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the upcoming September 21 governorship election, warning that they would face repercussions if the All Progressives Congress (APC) wins.

Obaseki expressed deep appreciation for their support at a thank-you meeting with public servants. “I am truly grateful for your help. Our achievements would not have been possible without you,” he said.

Obaseki stressed the importance of maintaining the state’s progress, emphasizing, “We are concluding this phase, but the momentum must continue. We cannot afford any mistakes on Saturday.”

He criticized his opponents for lacking the necessary experience and competence. “Those who seek power at all costs are uneducated and inexperienced. Allowing such individuals to lead poses a significant risk. It’s not just about me; it’s about democracy and development,” Obaseki asserted.

The governor warned that a poor electoral choice would directly impact civil servants. “Any mistake you make will affect you before anyone else,” he said.

Ighodalo, for his part, praised Obaseki’s accomplishments and promised to continue his work. “One of the worst situations is having leadership that you cannot be proud of. Edo State will not face such a situation,” Ighodalo stated.
