Rivers crisis: Eleme Local Govt secretariat razed

A section of the Eleme Local Government Area secretariat in Rivers State has been set on fire.

According to Channels Television, the secretariat was set ablaze by unknown persons in the early hours of Monday after the local government elections on Sunday.

The newly elected chairman, Brain Gokpa, came to the LG secretariat accompanied by his councillors and supporters but discovered that some buildings in the complex had been razed.

Channels Television reports that Gokpa had a phone conversation with former Ambassador Oji Ngofa who hails from Eleme regarding the incident.
