  • The president has reassigned portfolios to some ministers.
  • The development on the cabinet reshuffle came days after the president returned from his two week annual vacation in Europe.

Dr. Doyin Okupe, a former presidential spokesman, has praised President Bola Tinubu’s cabinet reshuffle, particularly scrapping ‘superfluous ministries’.

On Wednesday, Tinubu reshuffled his ministerial cabinet — sacked about about ministers.

Okupe commended Tinubu’s decision in an interview with NAN in Lagos, stating, “President Tinubu has done the needful by his mid-term rejig of his cabinet.

“Scrapping superfluous ministries aligns with eliminating waste and streamlining government for effectiveness, which is commendable,” he said.

“As I’ve stated previously, President Tinubu possesses leadership qualities to lift Nigeria out of economic challenges,” Okupe said.
