  • Aiyedatiwa expressed optimism that he would win the governorship election, saying “it will be a big celebration” for his party.

Lucky Aiyedatiwa, the APC candidate in Ondo’s governorship election, has expressed confidence in his victory due to his impressive track record.

The incumbent Ondo governor cast his vote at polling unit 05, Igbo ward 4, Obenla in Ilaje LGA, setting an example for others.

Speaking with journalists after voting, Aiyedatiwa praised the security personnel for maintaining a peaceful atmosphere at polling stations.

He noted that the electoral process was well-organized, lauding the electoral body’s efficiency, particularly in his ward.

“I want to believe that victory will come my way. I have just casted my vote here in my unit 05 Ilaje LGA of Ondo state,” Aiyedatiwa said.

“Here in my unit, the community has been calm and peaceful, and the turnout is very encouraging, and I want to believe that the same situation will be at the other locations across the state.”

“It’s peaceful here, I believe it should be peaceful in other locations.”

“I want to commend the security agencies, police, civil defense, military, they have heavily deployed to be able to attend to any security threat.”

“Ondo state has been judged to be one of the most safe and peaceful states in Nigeria, and we will be having our elections in a peaceful environment, and this very one will not be different.”

“The citizens, they are law-abiding, haven’t been saddened for the past 10 months, they still have been very peaceful state, and they know what they want and who they want to serve.”

Aiyedatiwa urged Ondo residents to exercise their franchise without fear or favour, adding that the massive campaign turnout would translate to electoral success.

The APC candidate reiterated his confidence in winning, citing his extensive campaign coverage across the state’s LGAs.

“Well, I believe with what we have done in the last 10 months, the populace, the voters, like I said, they know who they want, and I believe I am as talented as he is to win this election because of the work that I have done in the last 10 months.”

” I want to say that I was the only candidate that covered the entire local government during the campaign period.”
