Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State has approved a “13th month” salary for civil servants and automatic employment for first-class graduates of Edo origin, aimed at boosting motivation and enhancing manpower in the state.

The Head of Service, Anthony Okungbowa, announced the initiatives on Friday, explaining that the Graduate Development Programme will integrate top graduates from Nigerian and foreign universities into the civil service for effective service delivery.

“The 13th month salary is a motivation for workers to encourage them to deliver their best,” Okungbowa said.

He added that first-class graduates employed under the scheme will undergo rotations across ministries, departments, and agencies, with plans to send them to the private sector for additional experience.
