Tragedy has hit the family of Taraba State Governor, Dr Agbu Kefas, as Abraham, the driver of the governor’s mother, reportedly slumped and died after learning about the death of the governor’s sister, Atsi Kefas.
The incident occurred on Tuesday at T.Y. Danjuma House in Abuja. A source at the scene said Abraham, a native of Wukari, collapsed after reacting emotionally to the tragic news. “He shouted and then slumped. Unfortunately, he didn’t survive,” the source told Daily Trust.
Atsi Kefas was fatally struck by an accidental discharge from a police firearm while travelling on the Wukari-Kente route on December 5, 2024. Abraham had driven the vehicle involved in the incident.
Abraham, who had served in the convoy of the governor’s wife since Kefas assumed office in 2023, was deeply connected to the governor’s family and hometown.
