  • Ebonyi State Governor Francis Nwifuru has approved a N150,000 Christmas bonus for all civil servants to appreciate their dedication and support
  • The bonus will be disbursed by December 17, reflecting the government’s commitment to improving workers’ welfare during the holiday season

Ebonyi State Governor Francis Nwifuru has approved a generous N150,000 Christmas bonus for all civil servants.

The governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Dr. Monday Uzor, made the announcement through a statement issued on Friday in Abakaliki.

Governor Nwifuru revealed the decision during a state banquet to honour the visiting British Deputy High Commissioner to Nigeria, Mr Gill Lever, at the Government House in Abakaliki.

In the statement, Dr. Uzor emphasized that the bonus reflects the government’s gratitude for the dedication and understanding shown by workers, especially during a recent strike.

“The workers have demonstrated remarkable commitment and respect towards the government,” the statement noted. “During the strike, they listened to our appeals and showed understanding of our challenges. We deeply appreciate their support and are committed to improving their welfare.”

The governor directed that all civil servants receive the bonus by closing work on December 17.

This gesture highlights the government’s appreciation and effort to ensure the workers enjoy a rewarding holiday season.
