  • The air strikes in Malam Fatori were not just a standalone effort; they were part of a broader strategy in Operation Hadin Kai aimed at restoring security in northeastern Nigeria.

The air component of Operation Hadin Kai reportedly neutralized numerous ISWAP fighters in airstrikes around Malam Fatori, Borno.

According to Zagazola Makama, a publication focused on the Lake Chad region, missiles launched on December 15 caused significant damage to terrorist vehicles and equipment.

Intelligence sources revealed that the attack followed an aerial campaign targeting insurgents converging around Malam Fatori.

The sources stated, “reconnaissance missions identified vehicles and motorcycles used for militant movements and logistics support by terrorists.”

Makana noted that military aircraft were deployed in a coordinated operation using advanced surveillance to engage identified terrorist assets.

The report reads, “As aircraft swooped down with precision, vehicles and motorcycles were obliterated, causing significant equipment loss for terrorists.”

It continues, “Impeccable sources describe a series of explosions and thick smoke rising from impact sites.”

Sources confirmed the operation resulted in the deaths of numerous ISWAP militants, with estimates suggesting dozens of casualties.

The air strikes were part of Operation Hadin Kai’s broader strategy to restore security in northeastern Nigeria.

Ground forces, backed by aerial campaigns, have actively engaged ISWAP elements, with air superiority proving vital in these operations.
