The Kaduna State Police Command has heightened security measures to ensure a peaceful and safe holiday period across the state.

Commissioner of Police Ibrahim Abdullahi reaffirmed the command’s commitment to maintaining law and order, stating that proactive strategies are in place to address potential security concerns.

A statement issued on Sunday by the command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Mansir Hassan, outlined the deployment of special units, including the Anti-Kidnapping Unit, Anti-Vice Section, CP Monitoring Unit, and Operation Fushin Kada, to strategic locations.

The commissioner urged citizens to cooperate with the police, particularly by refraining from activities that could jeopardise public safety. He specifically warned youths against using banned items such as fireworks and knockouts, which could cause fear or unrest.

“We urge the public to avoid actions that could disrupt the state’s security,” Abdullahi said. “The youths are warned to refrain from the use of banned items like fireworks, knockouts, and any other materials capable of causing fear or unrest in the streets. We want to ensure everyone has a peaceful and enjoyable holiday season, and we will do everything in our power to make that happen.”

He also praised the collaborative efforts of various stakeholders in promoting harmony and assured the public that the command remains committed to safeguarding lives and property.

“The Kaduna State Police Command wishes everyone a joyous and safe holiday season,” he added.
