  • The statement said the 52-year-old convict was charged to court by NAPTIP, for raping the 12-year-old daughter of his church member who was entrusted under the care of his family.

The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) has secured the release of nine pregnant women from a baby factory in Abuja.

According to Vincent Adekoye, NAPTIP’s spokesperson, the women were rescued on Thursday from a rented apartment in the Ushafa area of Abuja.

“The victims were confined in a rented apartment by a suspected trafficker who recruited them online,” Adekoye stated.

NAPTIP raided the facility after receiving a tip from a concerned citizen.

In a separate case, the FCT High Court sentenced Kenneth Duke, a church founder, to 20 years imprisonment for raping a 12-year-old girl.

“The convict was charged with raping the daughter of a church member who was under his care,” Adekoye said.

The court found Duke guilty of intentionally causing emotional and psychological abuse on the victim.

“The offence occurred on March 6, 2023, when the convict penetrated the victim’s vagina without consent,” the statement read.

Investigations revealed that the victim, from Ondo State, was living in Lagos before moving to Abuja to live with her mother.
