- Wike assures ongoing implementation of people-oriented projects aligns with Tinubu’s campaign promises, fostering a stronger connection between leadership and citizens
Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has emphasized that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration prioritizes improving the lives of Nigerians over party politics.
Wike made this statement during the inauguration of the five-kilometer dualized Kuje township road, stretching from Tipper Garage Junction to the LEA Secretariat in the Kuje Area Council, Abuja.
He highlighted that the ongoing implementation of people-oriented projects across Abuja’s six area councils aligns with Tinubu’s campaign promises to residents.
“Mr. President entered into a covenant with you—your vote for him in exchange for development. Now, he is fulfilling his part by providing the necessary infrastructure,” Wike said. He acknowledged that while progress has been made, there is still work to be done, expressing optimism about achieving the administration’s goals.
Wike quoted a local saying, “Small, small, you will catch a monkey,” to underscore the administration’s step-by-step approach to meeting citizens’ expectations.
The minister reiterated that governance is about ensuring citizens’ happiness. “When you are happy, we are happy. If you are not, we cannot be,” he added.
Wike described Tinubu’s government as one that listens and responds to the needs of the people, aiming to foster a stronger connection between leadership and citizens.
