The passengers were reportedly burnt to death in the Saturday auto crash which was said to have been caused by collision of two commercial buses.
The two commercial buses had a head-on collision and caught fire at the Onipetesi axis along the Ore/Lagos Expressway.
Thirty two passengers were involved in the accident out of which 28 were burnt beyond recognition while two survivors rescued with serious injuries died before getting to the hospital.
Two other passengers are still receiving treatment.
Sources say the accident was caused by excessive speeding on the part of the drivers.
The Ondo State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Samuel Ibitoye, confirmed the incident to newsmen.
He disclosed that a preliminary investigation showed one of the vehicles drove against traffic.
Ibitoye, who urged drivers to exercise caution, ensure proper vehicle maintenance and avoid reckless driving, encouraged passengers to speak out against unsafe driving practices, emphasising that road safety is a shared responsibility.
