- Ladoja, who refuted the accusations while addressing newsmen at his residence on Monday, said Akande’s statement may have been spurred by the need to sell his book.
A former governor of Oyo State, Senator Rasidi Adewolu Ladoja, has stated that claims made by a former Governor of Osun State, Chief Bisi Akande in a recent interview are false.
Akande, a chieftain of the APC, had claimed that Ladoja knew something about the death of a former minister of Justice and Attorney General of the federation, late Chief Bola Ige.
Reacting, Ladoja said Akande is lying against him and there is no iota of truth in his claims.
Ladoja, who refuted the accusations while addressing newsmen at his residence on Monday, said Akande’s statement may have been spurred by the need to sell his book.
The former governor challenged Akande to go public with details of any information he has over the death of Bola Ige.
He warned the APC chieftain to refrain from assassinating his character, adding there is not nexus between his election and Ige’s death.
“I don’t have any hidden knowledge about the death of Chief Bola Ige. I had no problem with Bola Ige.
“Maybe Chief Bisi Akande wants to sell his book. I don’t know. There is no correlation between by election and the death of Ige.
“He should come out and tell the public instead of maligning my image. But, all options are open. As Otun Olubadan, I am no more a politician”.
