  • The group condemned the move as “tyrannical and undemocratic”

An education rights group, the Alliance of Nigerian Students Against Neo-Liberal Attacks (ANSA), has called on Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), to reinstate students rusticated for organising a protest.

NSUK had suspended 37 students for allegedly inciting public disturbance via a WhatsApp group created to oppose the university’s introduction of a third semester.

In a statement on Monday, ANSA condemned the move as “tyrannical and undemocratic,” arguing that the students were exercising their constitutional right to peaceful assembly.

The group, led by National Coordinator Joshua Temitope Oladepo, also demanded the release of arrested students and an end to what it described as a campaign of repression against student activism.
