Peseiro, 64, signed an 18-month contract with Zamalek, replacing Christian Gross, and will earn $65,000 monthly for the first six months
Former Super Eagles coach, Jose Peseiro, has been named the new head coach of Egyptian Premier League giants Zamalek SC.
The club confirmed his appointment on its official website.
Peseiro has been without a managerial role since leaving Nigeria’s national team in March 2024. However, reports from Egypt indicate that the 64-year-old Portuguese tactician has signed an 18-month contract with Zamalek.
The 14-time Egyptian champions recently parted ways with Christian Gross, a former Tottenham Hotspur manager, clearing the way for Peseiro’s arrival.
This move marks Peseiro’s return to Egyptian football. He previously managed Al Ahly during the 2015/16 season.
According to reports, Peseiro will earn $65,000 per month for his first six months at the club. His salary will then increase to $85,000 monthly from next season.
