A Nigerian Army officer, identified as Master Warrant Officer Abdulfatai Odutola, has been abducted along the Abuja-Jos highway, sources have confirmed.

Odutola, a Senior Non-Commissioned Officer, was reportedly travelling to Yola, the Adamawa State capital, when he was taken last Saturday.

According to military sources, the kidnappers have demanded a ransom of N20 million for his release. An internal memo also confirmed the abduction, urging relevant authorities to intervene.

This incident follows a deadly attack last week in Borno State, where Boko Haram and Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) militants killed three soldiers and looted a military base in Gwoza Local Government Area. Sources said the attackers set buildings ablaze and stole two gun trucks.
