The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has withdrawn all corps members from Mbaa community in Kwande Local Government Area of Benue State due to escalating violent attacks by suspected armed herders.

The decision follows reports of over 20 fatalities, including 16 farmers whose bodies were discovered in River Katsina-Ala.

In a statement released on Thursday, Yahuza Adamu, the Assistant Director of Information and Public Relations for NYSC in Benue, confirmed the withdrawal, citing persistent security threats in the area.

Adamu reassured parents and guardians of the corps members’ safety, noting that a headcount conducted by the NYSC Kwande Local Government Inspector confirmed all members are accounted for and not exposed to danger.
