- He polled third with 62,449 votes behind Babajide Sanwo-Olu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who got 762,134 votes, and Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour of the Labour Party (LP) who garnered 312,329 votes.
A former candidate for the Lagos State governorship under the Peoples Democratic Party in the 2023 general election, Abdul-Azeez Adediran, widely recognised as Jandor, has exited the party.
Jandor made his resignation known during a press conference that took place at Liberty Place, located in Ikeja, Lagos, on Monday afternoon.
He stated that his departure from the party was largely due to widespread indiscipline and acts of anti-party behaviour, which had become commonplace within his former party.
The former PDP governorship aspirant, accompanied by a substantial number of his loyal supporters, disclosed that his exit was influenced by the conduct of key party figures, including Chief Olabode George, the ex-Deputy National Chairman.
Jandor asserted that these individuals had actively undermined the PDP during the 2023 general elections.
“We will consult widely with everybody and then take the decision to collapse our structure to another platform. What is majority on the ground now is that we have left the Peoples Democratic Party,” Jandor stated.
